"All of Us Are Dead" is a Korean zombie-apocalypse series that takes place in a high school overrun by a deadly virus. Created accidentally by a science teacher trying to protect his son, the virus spreads rapidly—turning students and staff into vicious zombies. With no rescue in sight, a group of students must fight their way through the infected halls to survive.

Spoiler:

The Story is set in a high school in the fictional South Korean city of Hyosan, the chaos begins when a desperate science teacher, Lee Byeong-Chan, creates a deadly parasite. His intention? To help his bullied son. But things spiral out of control fast—the parasite mutates and starts turning people into aggressive, bloodthirsty zombies. Within no time, the entire city becomes a zombie-infested nightmare.

At the center of the chaos, a group of high school students manage to survive by barricading themselves inside their classrooms. With no help coming from the outside, they soon realize they’re completely on their own. Their only option? Find a way out of the school—before it’s too late.

What sets this series apart from other zombie shows isn’t just the fast-paced action or the terrifying, full-speed zombies (though those are seriously intense). It’s the characters and their performances that really bring it to life.

From the brave and resourceful Lee Su-Hyeok to the clever Nam On-Jo, the loyal Lee Cheong-San, and the quiet but brilliant Choi Nam-Ra, each character adds depth and emotion to the story. On the flip side, we’ve got Yoon Gwi-Nam—the school bully turned ruthless villain. He’s not just trying to survive—he’s actively hunting the others, using zombies as weapons and even sacrificing his classmates just to stay ahead.

And then there's Nam-Ra. As one of the smartest and most complex characters, she becomes a natural leader, coming up with strategic ways to outwit the undead. Her decisions often drive the group forward—and sometimes put her at odds with the others.

Each episode ends with a jaw-dropping twist, making it impossible not to binge. Whether it’s heartbreak, betrayal, or a sudden death, there’s always something that’ll leave you gasping.

My Experience:

All of Us Are Dead was an intense and emotionally charged experience that kept me on edge from start to finish. While it may seem like a typical zombie survival series at first glance, it quickly unfolds into a gripping tale of friendship, sacrifice, and the brutal realities of growing up in a broken system. What truly struck me was how the series seamlessly combined horror and heartfelt emotion, portraying not just the terror of infection but the deeper struggles of bullying, parental pressure, and societal neglect.

As I dug deeper into the story behind the show, I discovered its origins in a popular webtoon titled Now at Our School and how the creators adapted it to reflect real-world issues in South Korean society. The high school setting wasn’t just a backdrop, it was a reflection of a generation fighting to survive in a world that often fails them. Learning about the production, the cast’s dedication, and the social commentary behind the chaos gave me a whole new perspective.

Overall, this series wasn’t just about zombies, it was about humanity, resilience, and the silent battles teenagers fight every day.
